Oh my.. i love this weekend! so far, e2 ang pinakamasayang weekend ko! haay.
first, yung kid ko, nagsayaw nung field demo nila! :) bakit ako masaya? kasi mahirap pagsayawin yun eh.. hehe.. imagine, yung mga practice nila buong 2 hours lang siya takbo ng takbo o kaya nakaupo lang kasi ayaw magsayaw.. tpos nung field demo nila, wow! nagsayaw! im proud of myself! haha
second, finally nagkausap na yung mga old BTs (Behavioral Therapists) at kaming new BTs sa conflict na nangyari samin. All's well that ends well. sana nga.. hehe..
then, it's my friend Nadz' bday celebration nung gabi. Im looking forward in seeing my old buddies again. when i saw old it means my high school barkada.. im really happy last night, kahit hindi ako nakapag-inom dahil may sipon ako. konti lang yung nkapunta sa barkada, yung bestfriend ko (Cora), isang bading(James) at 3 lalaki (Dadi Erick, Kyoko and Christ). i had to go home early (12mn-that's early for us) kasi masama na yung pakiramdam ko.. at dahil hinatid nila ako sa bahay at namiss nila yung place namin (na palagi nilang pinupuntahan nung highschool), nag-stay pa sila ng halos 1 hour pra mag reminisce ng kung anu-anong at mang-buking nang hindi dapat mabuking. haha
Eh we have to go to Dabs' place naman (barkada ko din nung highschool) dahil binyag at birthday nung bunso nila. Walang ligo-ligo silang pumunta sa bday at binyag. haha.. that's what i miss most about them, yung tipong walang arte, walang hiya-hiya, basta lang makasama ang mga dating kaibigan.
We ordered sundaes lang at fries. :) sarap kasi libre.. hehe..
tpos pag-uwi, dumaan ako dun sa kambal kong inaanak (Jamiel and Sachie) na nag 2nd bday khapon.. they're so cute... tapos ang daldal.. :) matapos kong paiyakin si sachie (in fairness, she's very cute when she cries), umuwi na rin kmi..

life lessons
it's funny that in just one week, God will give you a handful of life lessons to share.
I opt to write this blog as soon as i have just a tiny inner peace in my life. It was a "hell week" last week. My heart was shred into pieces.
1. It involved my work and the "issues" i had to face (ask me about the details na lang). For once, i have felt the feeling that i've never felt before: hated. Due to miscommunication, i know i was and is still being hated. I remembered my past years in high school and college where i used to be loved. Where i was accepted and unjudged. Where my life was full of positive vibrations. I kept thinking on how i just wanted to go home and go back to where people will not make me feel any guilt inside. Thanks for my good ol' buddies, i was able to cope up.
Life Lessons: You cannot please everybody not matter how hard you try.
In real world, being strong is essential to survive.
You don't need many friends, you just need real ones.
Be careful on whom you are trusting.
2. My Mom almost got hurt on the Glorietta Explosion. She just left a few minutes before the tragedy happened. Good thing she decided to leave because of nature's call, or else she might be one of the victims. I still cry everytime i think about it. I couldn't afford losing a loved one, especially a parent.
Life Lesson: Never take anything for granted. You never know when you will lose them.
3. My love life is still a wreck. While going through these things, Im still asking myself the big Q "Why don't I have a boyfriend?!" to share all what's happening to me. It's pathetic.
Life Lessons: You don't need a boyfriend to share your feelings; God, family and friends are much better to talk with. (and while typing this lesson, my mind is screaming "No! Iba pa rin ang may boyfriend!" haha)
I didn't know I could survive through all these. But whenever I hold on to God and tell Him all my worries and fears, it's just magic that everyday, I am surviving. He is really my refuge and strength.
Pero we're on our way there. At least, I can smile now. Yung genuine, yung masayang smile. :)
Praise God for my colorful life! :)

eating alone
yah yah yah... did this lots of time already. eto yung pinaka-hate kong part ng pagiging single since i really love eating while chatting with someone. but i've realized that hindi din naman all the time makakasama mo sa pagkain ang boyfriend mo db? so na-realize ko na okay na rin na sanay na akong kumain mag-isa. :)
my favorite place to eat alone is Jollibee. kahit anong branch pero usually sa Philcoa ako every saturday especially before going to st. clare. here's some reasons why:
-sa Jollibee, bida ang sarap.. hehe
-it doesn't look awkward if you're eating alone 'cause it's not a place where you usually find lovers doing lovey-dovey stuffs. pampamilya siya, so ok lang mag-isa.
you may think that I should change the title of my blog to "Jollibee".
no..
Because for me, Jollibee will always be associated with "eating alone"...

nostalgia: father and the rest of my spum memories
no, im not gonna write here about my father. it's about my super duper crushness with extra feelings involved back in college.
yesterday after work, i went back to my alma mater with cors for the signing of clearance to secure our academic records.
first stop, our beloved CAS office. the office i went in and out for 2 years for the following reasons: talk to the chairperson, dean, et al.; "pa-sign po"; "may statement of account na po ba?"; etc, etc. We ran into mr. balaoing and for once, i felt that i missed his presence in my life (naks! everyone, kill me now). We also talked to Dra. alamo about that MA SPED thing. hehe
then we went to library to find out that it's closed. then up to the IMC to find out that we cannot be accomodated because of some reasons i dont know, then down to finance, GSS, and guidance office. We ran into a few acquaintances and a little chit-chat were given to each one of them-including Ms. Tagay. Zena, of course, works in the guidance office so we made "kumusta" to her too.
we went to SAO and we were informed by Ms. Maita that there was an on-going mid-year training for students leaders. wow.. i used to do that too. so we went to Levesville Hall (formerly Conference Room), and chatted with Ms. Rose Ngo, and Ms. Pat and then... i saw him! wahaha.. :) my former crush..
i can't help it, i don't like him anymore but you know.. old school, old crush.. it felt right.. hehe..
he looked good in his green polo shirt. he's mestizo kc eh.. :) of course, with his braces and everything, he looked perfect for me. hahaha.. i know he didn't have the idea that im around, but because Dexter is so kulit, he acknowledged our presence. aaww.. so sweet yet so embarassing.
so their training ended, i pretended i didn't see him coming towards my way (im standing beside the door) because his making his way out. It was so obvious that I "pretended" only. hehe He greeted me, said "happy birthday" because i was wearing a maroon shirt. I said "thank you." and off he went. haay.. it's glad that we still have that joking around attitude with each other after everything. hehe.. the full story? next time. :)
after school, we went to rob manila. haay.. i totally missed the place. we went to chaikofi, together with chey and shin, since starbucks is not around anymore. i wanted to try their seats. ahaha. ang babaw. and since im not a coffee drinker, i bought some bread and coke light from BreadTalk. We made chika and of course, since i can't get over the fact that i saw him, he was the main character in our chikahan. :)
to be continued..

eivets
daywhat makes a 25-year old male special?
...that he likes trance music though he doesn't like dancing that much?
...that he prefers Coffee Bean over Starbucks and Shakey's over Yellow Cab?
...that he loves thin crust pizzas?
...that he loves Dencio's and Teriyaki Boy?
...that he also likes chocolates with wafer?
...that he also listens to Paramore?
...that his phone has the same brand as mine?
...that he doesn't think Trinoma is good enough?
...that he loves reading?
...that he doesn't like big crowds?
...that he loves driving in the rain?
...that his name is consists of his grandfather's and his father's that's why he prefers to be called by his nick?
...that he insists that 21 is the legal age and not 18?
...that he stopped calling me "hija" when I called him "kuya"? :)
...that he has this very tight relationship with his "boyfriends"?
...that he truly loves the town he's living in?
...that he lives near Bo's Coffee, the road perpendicular to it?
...that he once walked to Robinson's Galleria from Katipunan with his friends?
...that he considers St. Clare as his heroine?
...that he is really proud of their parish church?
...that he said he loves my name and calls me Michiko-san?
...that my first impression of him is that he may have tendencies to be gay?
...that I think he's very intimidating?
...that I asked him to be my boyfriend a day after we first texted each other?
...that I thought he wouldn't text me anymore?
...that I saved his birthday message for me?
...that I saved a dozen more messages from him?
...that I think of him the moment I wake up and the moment before I close my eyes to sleep?
...that even in my dreams, I see him?
what makes him special?
It's because he loves Kuya Jess with all his heart. Period.
I wish I could add more reasons why he is special, why he is different. Which means knowing him better.
And I pray that in the future, I will be making a list on why I love him.
"the more i learn, the more i love. the more my heart can't get enough."

ilana
let me tell you the first time i met Ilana Abraham.
I was sitting inside the center (my workplace) last August 6, with nothing to do but to stare at the ceiling. joke.. my kid's parents cancelled our session due to rain, without advising me so i found myself doing nothing nga. Then teacher jo asked one of the supervisor to do an assessment in her behalf in katipunan. since i wasn't doing anything nga, my boss decided that i should go with teacher cez (the supervisor) since im assigned to be the teacher of the said kid.
so off we go to katipunan while dancing in the rain. hehe.. it's a long journey from mandaluyong but since im with someone, i never noticed it. we rode a bus, and then a jeepney to UP then another jeepney to Tumana where the gate of Loyola Grand Villas is located. Since it's an executive village wherein the residents usually have their own cars, we have to walk from the gate of the said village up to the tutorial center: which i considered as the most exciting part of the story because it's pretty far. and scary. and far. and scary. Some houses were just being constructed so there are presence of construction workers. hehe which made my story scary.
anyway, after we had our alay lakad, we met her: Ilana Abraham. she's 9 years old, dyslexic and hyperactive. She speaks English very well, which made me anemic that night, but is having difficulty grasping concepts especially in Araling Panlipunan and Filipino (isn''t obvious why?).
She came from a very, very well-off family, considering her address states "Grand Mansion, Finland St." blah blah.. Mansion?! what the ----!
So the next three days, i TRAVELLED again to katipunan, struggled with heart-breaking comments from her, squeezed my frail mind and body for ideas na nakakapang-uto just to mae her do our work. Added factor for the stress i experienced was her mom. i don't want to elaborate it anymore, im scared. hehe
-----
so when i was told that i'll be tutoring Ilana again, my first reaction is "HUWAAT?! NOT AGAIN?! PLEASE I'LL BE GOOD NA, NO MORE GIMIK AND NO MORE PA-TWEETUMS! JUST DON'T MAKE ME GO THERE AGAIN!" okay, im exaggerating. but the reaction is close to my real reaction.
i know my boss can see it in my face that if given the chance, i wouldn't accept the job. i've said all the excuses i can think of, but fate has its own way. hehe.. because i found myself going to her place again.
this time, things were lot easier. she seemed ecstatic seeing me again and because i've researched about her personality (im exaggerating again), i know how to handle her already. But still, going to her place is really tiring. So before we had our 2nd session, i've decided to give up.
I was planning to cancel our session for today (friday), tell them somethin came up that i couldn't go anymore. But last night, Ilana told me something that melted my heart. Out of the blue, she said, "You know what teacher chiko, I realized you were nice so i made a pink butterfly painting for you. I was supposed to give it to you the next day but you didn't show up. I was sad the whole day."
I couldn't cry in front of her so Im crying right now. Our sessions last august were bad, but we also had moments that made us get to know each other. Ilana was so good in drawing, she can draw anything from her imagination. She knows im scared of frogs and that i love butterfllies. Guess what? she still remembers it. She is such an angel.
Our session this morning is our last session. I don't know if i'll be able to see her again but i think she felt that would be the last for she gave me a lot of things. First, she wrote "I love you teacher chico" in her beautiful notepad and gave it to me. At the back of the notebook, she drew a bunny out of the word dog. she told me that she did that so that i can copy it. Then, she gave me a paper soap (im amazed!). she told me to keep it in my wallet so that i'll be reminded of her. if i lost it, she'll just give me another one daw. Then she gave me a rubber butterfly. It's because I love butterfly daw.
Ive learned a lot of things from Ilana. She taught me that toothfairy exists, that my fallen tooth could be my lucky charm. :) She taught me that sometimes, it's ok not to follow your parents and instead, follow your dreams. She taught me to still believe in balancing play with work. She taught me how to use a paper soap. :) She taught me how to draw a beautiful butterfly. :)
and lastly, she taught me how to be strong, that i should overcome all the obstacles just to do what i love to do.
I'll miss Ilana. And if ever I'll be offered with the job again, I know I won't have to think twice. Because for sure, I'll find myself on my way to Katipunan again. :)

welcome to my world
here's some terms i always use at work.. :) so that next time when i say one, i wouldn't have to explain it anymore. hehe
artic- short for articulation; producing the sound clearly. (kelangan sya ng kids coz bulol ung iba hehe)
baa baa black sheep- a nursery rhyme about a talking black sheep who was asked for wool; my favorite nursery rhyme.
baskets- objects used to indicate how many drills to be done before a play break or a reward
blocks- objects used to prolong the work; helpful especially in 2 or 3 hours sessions because it takes a lot of time to build, replicate, then pack away blocks. hehe..
block imitation- a drill wherein the child will try to replicate the block structure made by the teacher; if the kid is lethargic, you are lucky because it will take a lot of time. :)
BT- abbreviation for Behavioral Therapist
good morning/goodbye song - songs which should always be sung every session; very flexible song, if you're lazy, make it a ballad. if you're enjoying the session, make it a rap song. hehe
general meeting- a meeting which makes the therapists pray for their lives; usually ends around 10:30 pm.
kid- heaven-sent individual; someone whose parents pay you for their progress.
krist yan- eatery where we can make "utang" our food. hahaha.
losyon- according to a therapist, it's the item used for massaging the kids. am i right yen? hehe
pack away- command used to tell the kid to put his finished basket (see baskets above) in a bigger basket. hehe; in Tagalog "itabi mo na tong basket na ginamit mo kung ayaw mong ipukpok ko sayo to." joke!
play break- time alloted for the child to do whatever he wants after working; time alloted for the therapists to text or make "chika" to other therapists. hehehe. Layman's term - recess
program- sheets of paper which tells you what to do with your kid; in layman's term - listahan ng utos ng amo. hahaha.
prompt- help given to a kid to answer a drill correctly
scoresheet- record book of your child's development; lose it if you have evaluation, for sure you'll be reprimanded next general meeting.
Teacher Dec- handles the schedule of the therapists. Befriend her and you'll be rich.
Teacher Jo- amo. Approachable Assistant Director who does the assessment and the program.
Teacher Mon- amo. Program Director. Sister-in-law of Ian.
Teacher Raul- amo. uhm. my lips are sealed.
timesheet- a piece of paper which can make you smile or cry; determines your survival for the next two weeks.
worksheets- drills given to high functioning kids; nosebleed
so far, this is all i can think of. i should be going too. my tita is waiting for me. :) i'll update it soon!

the legend of the rice
last night, i went to eastwood for a dinner with my old buddies. I have this feeling that my friends who work there need me.. haha.. the dinner was supposed to be last tuesday but since it was raining cats and dogs (thanks stevie for introducing the term to me), it was moved last night.
i was supposed to be early for our dinner, considering my last session ended at 4 pm. but duty called, i was assigned to be the circle master for the kids' circle time/playtime. it ended around 5 pm. of course, being a girl, i have rituals pa before going out. i dont know why my feet wont leave the center and i was really forcing yen to join us. it's like im bound to be with someone on my way to eastwood. and there it happened. Shin texted me.
She wanted to meet us up at edsa central. i convinced her to just ride a tricycle to our place since yen and sheyn were still around too. so shin showed up and i convinced her (again) to come with me at eastwood to meet up margz and cors.
so we went to eastwood. shin and i met up with the two IBMers in front of the carousel at first, both of them soooooooo excited to see shin, and then decided to eat at Dencio's. we ordered 2 pork sisig (thanks margz for paying one), pancit as requested by Cors, chicken ala gambas, rice and iced teas. random topics were discussed while eating, though mostly involved margz and her stay at IBM. Shin finished first. suddenly, a crew (or was he a manager margz?) came to our table and asked shin if she wanted rice. hehehe. the nerve. i think it's insulting and funny at the same time. hahaha.
shin wowed us with her counseling skills. :) it's amazing to hear advices from her. cors was a little quiet that night, maybe her mind was somewhere in sta. mesa. hehe. margz shared her experiences and feelings about the "issue". it's a nice feeling that for once, i felt i was back in st. paul, in our classroom, just chatting with my old friends. it felt home.
the night ended with cors going to her meeting, and the remaining three of us going home. Margz and i stayed a little while because her dad will pick us up. we talked about mervin, stevie, and the rest of the guys involved with me. hehehe. i missed telling margz about my lovelife. i dont know why it feels different if she's the one im confiding to about it. maybe because she would always be affirming. hehe.
i wouldn't mind going an extra mile if it means 2-3 hours of incomparable laughters and talks. im looking forward for another plate of sisig. hopefully, with the whole BSP4 (2007).. :)

feeling in love
thanks to yen, she made me hear this song. i wasn't in love with it at first, but when i downloaded it at home and listened to it again and again, it made me smile. i know i would be feeling the same way. i won't care if all of his imperfections show, all i care about is that i'll love him no matter what. the problem is, im not really sure who that person is. hehe. feeling in love lang. anyway, here's the lyrics of the song im talking about:

malas
i have to let this out before i squeeze my brain cells for the quarterly progress reports of my kids..
"when it rains, it pours"
when it rains, it pours.
we shouldn't blame the things happening to us on fate. we always have a choice.

because of the issue
because of what margz is currently experiencing, i am influenced to create my own blog. gusto ko din ma-issue. anyway, my brain cells (thanks margz for the comment) aren't really working at this very moment (actually they stopped working since graduation) so you wouldn't find "im-so-deep-dig-me-up" words here. hehe.
some entries might be in Tagalog (kaya nga I beg to differ ha juno, cors, margz), some might be songs, some might be in Bisaya (joke lang). All i want is an outlet. At siyempre, ang ma-issue. hehe. peace margz.
